Funded by the UMEZ/Mertz Gilmore Seed Fund for Dance in 2023/2024. I worked with Jerise Fogel and Josefina Hernandez in imagining an event that celebrates the plants of our neighborhood, Washington Heights (NYC/Lenapehoking). The event began with a plant walk followed by a cyanotypes workshop and a performance I directed. The dance featured poetry about plants and trees, including commissioned poems by Dani "dan" Cole, Bureen Ruffin, Jerise Fogel and Louise Gluck (Snowdrops). Dancers/collaborators involved in co-creating this work: Lisa Nevada, Joanna Nobbe, Erick Montes, Marcela Torres. Music direction by Reza Salazar and musical performance by Reza and Santiago Orjuela.
